Biography

John Maines, Jr. fits the category of a traditional country music singer, generally associated with artists such as Waylon Jennings, Mark Chestnut, and David Allen Coe. He started playing the guitar and writing songs at the age of fourteen. By the age of fifteen, he was performing shows with Ernest Tubb and Freddie Hart. Over the years, John has recorded five albums (four on CD format, the earliest being available only on record and cassette). He has also released a variety of 45's early on in his career.

He is no stranger to airplay: John has had seven songs in the Top 10, seven songs in the Top 20, and eight songs in the Top 40 on the Country Music Charts in the United States and Europe.

Most recently, In August of 2007, John was nominated for a Grammy Award by Canadian-American Records. The nominations were for Best New Country Male Artist, and Best Country Single (for the song "You Used To Be The One", from his album Long Hard Road).

With a new CD (Outlaw Runnin' Wild) being released Worldwide in 2008, John has no intentions of slowing down. A truly gifted Country Music Singer-Songwriter, guitar player, and International Country Music Recording Artist, it just goes to show that John Maines, Jr. has a passion for Country Music and what Country Music is all about.
